WHAT THOMAS TUCHEL SAID
After being named as the Three Lions' new boss, Tuchel shared a video message for the English fans from Wembley as he said: "Hi guys, Thomas here. Quite a bit nervous, it's my first message as the English head coach. I'm at Wembley, where else? And there's also reason to be a bit nervous. I think that's a good thing.
"I can promise you I'm very excited. I'm very honoured and I will do everything to ensure that we can qualify for the World Cup first of all, and then we have a successful World Cup, try to get a second star on our shirt. All the best and see you soon in the stadium."

THE BIGGER PICTURE
The FA faced criticism for choosing Tuchel from former Tottenham coach Harry Redknapp who felt that the appointment of a German over an English candidate was unfair. He also raised questions over Tuchel's track record at the highest level.
